Black River SafariBlack River Safari

Black River is one of the longest rivers in Jamaica. At a length of 53.4 km (33 miles), it was believed to be the longest until it was discovered that Rio Minho was 92.8 km long. Its name refers to the darkness of the river bed caused by thick layers of decomposing vegetation. Over 100 species of birds have been recorded in the Black River morass.


Bob MarleyBob Marley Museum
Travel through the hills and curves of the parish of St.Ann, called the garden parish, until you reach Nine Mile, where your Bob Marley tour takes place. This little village is tucked away in the beautiful mountain of Jamaica and is the birthplace (Feb.6,1945) of legendary “King of Reggae”, Bob Marley. It is also the place he was laid to rest.
The Bob Marley tour starts with a walk through his home as a young boy, which is now a museum and photo gallery. Your guide will reveal little known insights into Bob Marley’s childhood and musical career. You’ll even have a chance to stand on “Mt. Zion Rock” (Bob’s Meditation Spot) and rest your head on the “pillow”, made famous in the song “Talking Blues”.

Dunns River FallsDunn's River Falls
Dunn’s River Falls has a very fascinating history. It is said to be the location of the legendary battle of "Las Chorreras". This battle was fought in the year, 1657 and took place near Dunn’s River Falls. It was between the English and the Spanish Expeditionary Force from Cuba. The battle was in fact for ownership of the island.
The outcome of the battle was in favour of The English who won. Also under the leadership of the British, Charles Pryce was the first owner of "Las Chorreras".


Glistening WatersGlistening Waters
The Luminous Lagoon is one of Jamaica’s natural  wonders. This lagoon, surrounded by mangroves, is home to microscopic organisms that emit a phosphorescent light when the water is agitated. Plan your trip for dusk and then take a boat ride. As the  water is disturbed, you’ll see an eerie light illuminating the waters below. Wave your hands or drag a stick in the water to make the water glow in the dark. Those who wish can swim in the luminous waters as well.
The lagoon is about 4-5 feet deep at the center. Boats leave from the Glistening Waters Marina, where there is also a restaurant and nightclub. Visitors can enjoy dinner at the Glistening Waters restaurant while watching the bioluminescent show on the water.

Green GrottoGreen Grotto Caves
Ideally located on Jamaica’s scenic North Coast, the Green Grotto Caves and Attractions are linked to the island’s history and are a major natural attraction for both local visitors and tourists who crave adventure.
Previously known as the Runaway, Dairy, Rum, Hopewell and Dry Harbour Caves, Green Grotto Caves are said to have provided Shelter for Jamaica’s first inhabitants, the Taino Indians. The caves, which are just over 3 km from the spot at which Christopher Columbus landed in 1494, were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655. They were a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th Century and between the two World Wars, were used by smugglers running arms to Cuba. In more recent times, sections of the caves were used as a rum storehouse. One of two outdoor lakes on the property.

Hip StripHip Strip Gloucester Avenue, Montego Bay
The “Hip Strip” or Gloucester in Montego Bay is the place to be anyone visiting or living in Jamaica. You have 13 hotels, over 60 shops and over 35 bars and restaurants on the hip strip. There are local beaches including the world renowned Doctors Cave Beach. There are banks and car rental facilities on the Strip as well. You can Start at one end which is a dead end where you can watch the planes come in as the runway is only yards away.
As far as Restaurants, some include Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Bob Sled Café, Groovy Grouper(located on Doctor’s cave beach), Cuban Café, ice’s, Ma lou’s, the Native, Pelican, the brewery, Mo bay proper, just to name a few. Most of these spots are open during the day. Margaritaville has a water slide, lounge chairs, Water trampolines, floats, lots of entertainment and food and drink during the day and it gets wild at nights.

There’s no better way to explore the mountain trails, the peaceful meadows and the sandy shore of Jamaica than by horseback. Ride bareback into the sea. RaftingMartha Brae River
Rafting on the Martha Brae, the island’s #1 rafting attraction is loacated approximately three miles inland from the town of Falmouth, birthplace of one of jamaica’s former Prime Minister, Hugh Shearer. The attraction is a mere twenty miles from Montego Bay and forty miles from Ocho Rios.
The embarkation area, “Rafter’s Village”, encompasses six acres of beautifully manicured lawns situated on a natural horseshoe island. It offers a fully appointed recreational  facility which includes picnic grounds, a full service bar, two souvenir shop, swimming pool and modern restrooms. Before embarking on the tour, guests can also take a stroll through “Miss Martha’s Herb Garden”, a presentation of Jamaica’s herbs famous for their medicinal and healing properties.
Established forty years ago, rafting on the Martha Brae boasts a complement of eighty five licensed and experienced raft captains. Thirty-foot long bamboo rafts are boarded  from a concrete pier, under the supervision of a licensed dispatcher. The raft ride is operated over a three mile stretch of the beautiful  Martha Brae River and last approximately one hour: once on the raft, guests can learn about “The Legend of Martha Brae” or enjoy an exhilarating Swim.
The disembarkation area known as “Martha’s Rest” also offers a souvenir shop, bar, lounge area and restrooms.

Ricks CafeRicks Café- Negril
Our Story Begins with the opening of Ricks Café by its founder, Richard Hershman, in April 1974. At the time, Negril was a sleepy fishing Village with little development; it lacked many modern amenities such as electricity, telephone and hot running water. Our beautiful little Cliffside location was originally owned by a local doctor, the son of the first Governor of independent Jamaica
Ricks Café was the first public bar and restaurant of its type on the west end cliffs, offering an alternative to negril’s  majestic formed cliffs. Over the years, visitors and locals alike have designated ricks café as Negirl’s premier gathering spot and our sunsets have become a Jamaican tradition.
In Addition to the beautiful views, Rick's Cafe is fortunate to have one of the most incredible coves along the West End Cliffs. From our cliffs, countless visitors and locals have iumped or dived into the crystalline water below- Our highest platform iump is 35 feet and ensures the thrill of a lifetime.

Rockland Bird SanctuaryRockland’s Bird Sanctuary
Rockland’s Bird Sanctuary is located about 30 minutes from Montego Bay in the little town called Anchovy. The sanctuary is located down a narrow, rough road but a great haven for birds. The Rockland’s property was purchased back in 1954 by Lisa Salmon also known as “the bird lady”. She loved to write, paint and feed birds. After awhile the property started to attract many wide varieties. Then in 1962 Miss Salmon opened the Rockland’s Bird Sanctuary to the public. Miss Salmon died in 2000 at the age of 96 but her legacy lives on. Rockland’s is now run by Lisa’s nephew and managed by Fritz. Fritz has been working  at Rockland’s for over 15 years and has a gift for spotting and beckoning the birds which dwell in the surrounding trees.


Rose HallRose Hall Great House.
The greatest of Jamaican great houses, the Rose Hall Great House has a story with all the elements of an engaging novel. Built in 1770 by John Palmer and his wife, it eventually became the residence of their grandnephew, John Rose Palmer. In 1820, Palmer married Annie, a beautiful but feisty English girl. Little did John know that his young wife possessed “black magic” powers that would eventually lead to his demise. During her reign as mistress she had countless lovers. “The White Witch of Rose Hall” has fascinated generations, and even today, there after those who claim to see Annie passing through the Great House.


YS FallsYS FALLS
The beautiful YS Falls opened in 1990. It is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by flora and fauna, many indigenous to the area. There are seven waterfalls, several which Cascade into natural pools; but the thrill of climbing the falls while enjoying nature’s ambiance is an exhilarating experience.
