Thursday afternoon turned out to hold quite a surprise for yours truly as Crazy Joe and I went off to get a picture of The Food Network film crew shooting one of their segments of Caribbean Hideaways series. The surprise wasn't watching the crew do their stuff, but the fact that the host of the Jamaican segment was someone who was on WSYX-TV (Channel 6) in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio, USA. Marc Silverstein was a fixture on Columbus TV, so much so that he was called "local TV's last ornery man" by The Other Paper, which was one of the Columbus newspapers that helped influence the design of the Beingee's Negril.Com web site! (This was years before The Other Paper developed their own web site and changed their format.) It was a trip seeing Marc and glad to hear of his work with The Food Network, the view at the Pickled Parrot sure beats the view of the Olentangy and Scioto Rivers any day! Hey Marc, it was great to see you again and if Lee didn't mention it, email me man. It might be worth your while....
