March 12th, 2003
The JA-JA Originals Art Gallery is now going into the 3rd exhibit for the season titled "YOUNG WESTMORLITES" Feb 23 - March 23 in the Coco La Palm conference room is an exhibit of two young artists of promise from the Westmoreland area Kirkland Clarke and Lionel Spence. Kirkland now enrolled at Mico teachers college and Lionel working in the security industry have both been working with the gallery for about two years now both of these young artists have absorbed many positive influences through thier involvement with the gallery and have worked to develop their skills. Since connecting with the gallery and founder Rick Kevonian they have grown in the right direction both of the young artists works are fine examples of impressionistic sceneries and abstracts. This exhibition is for the purpose of exposing the younger talents of Jamaica as well as to expose some of our young visitors who travel to here during spring break to another side of the culture. An exhibit of more affordable art that some of them could even collect and cherish for years to come while at the same time support a young person like themselves Please feel free to stop in and see what the young artists are doing and support them and the gallery.
