Nanny and Lee

One of the National Heroes of Jamaica is the legendary Nanny of the Maroons. More than just a face the $JA 500 note, Nanny was the spiritual leader of the Maroons centuries ago. She and her followers kept the British at bay and this eventually lead to their freedom. Nanny Falls, shown here with Lee from Back Roads Jamaica, was named in her honor.
